Rip the Labels is a small brand run by Cindy Isaacson. This page explains what we collect when you visit the site or order the journal, how we use it, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.

Who we are

Rip the Labels™ is owned and operated by Cindy Isaacson. You can reach us any time at hello@ripthelabels.com.

What we collect

  • Account information you give us, such as name and email.
  • Order information when you purchase, including shipping address and items ordered.
  • Payment details, which are handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Email signups for letters from Cindy.
  • Basic site analytics, such as pages visited and approximate location, used in aggregate.

How we use it

  • To take and fulfill your order and ship the journal.
  • To send order confirmations and shipping updates.
  • To send occasional letters from Cindy if you have asked to hear from her.
  • To improve the site and understand what readers respond to.
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed to run the brand, and only with providers under their own privacy terms:

  • Our payment processor, for taking and refunding orders.
  • Our hosting and database provider, for running the site.
  • Our email provider, for sending order and brand emails.
  • Shipping carriers, for delivering your order.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for outside advertising.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses a small number of cookies and similar tools to keep your cart working, remember preferences, and measure traffic in aggregate. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; some parts of checkout may not work without them.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from brand emails at the bottom of any letter. To make a request, email hello@ripthelabels.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Data retention

We keep account and order records for as long as needed to support you and to meet our tax and accounting obligations, typically {{TBD: retention period, e.g. 7 years}}. After that we delete or anonymize the records.

Children

Rip the Labels is written for women in midlife. The site and the journal are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be noted at the top.
